Hi all, i have just bought a galaxy, it has a full service history apart from the last 10000 mile sevice which hasnt been stamped, so im not sure if it has been done. it was owned by a hire car company all of its life.

i'd like to do a thorough service on it and any essential jobs you guys recomend...so...what do you recomend chaps?

Cheers!

Check your air con works. I just bought a 95k miler, 4yrs old. The service history is fully stamped up by the same garage from new, up until only 3k miles ago so I figured aircon would be ok. WRONG, air con not covered in standard service, its a separate one apparently. Yep, snapped compressor shaft! I'm going to wait for the spring and keep an eye on the breakers for one!

Welcome!

Id suggest going through the FAQ and checking everything that is listed thats relevant to your model/engine type! It'll all go sooner or later so might as well know what you're facing now lol

2.3's are a sturdy time proven engine, so a good service should keep it on the ball.

Enjoy your Gal!

You could treat it to fresh oil and filter and check the belts. Charge the battery and check antifreeze concentration should about do it for winter. ;)
